The Wildside GeoQuest Special Edition race is a unique collaboration for 2018 and brings together Richard Old from Fully Rad Adventure and Chris Dixon from Wild & Co to deliver Australias biggest and best Adventure Race. As such the Race Format and Pricing have been updated, and include a new race for this edition only:

Wildside GeoQuest Special Edition

FULL COURSE (EARLY) – $450 per person ($1,800 4 pp team) (full fee paid by 1 April 2018).
FULL COURSE (STANDARD) – $550 per person ($2,200 4 pp team).
GEO-HALF (EARLY) – $350 per person ($1,400 4 pp team) (full fee paid by 1 April 2018).
GEO-HALF (STANDARD – $450 per person ($1,800 4 pp team).
THE RUSH (EARLY) – $250 per person ($1,700 4 pp team) (full fee paid by 1 April 2018).
THE RUSH (STANDARD) – $300 per person ($1,200 4 pp team) (full fee paid by 1 April 2018).

 

The Full Course

This is the headline race for the weekend and has A1 points. This is a 48hr course and teams can expect to cover up to 50kms of kayaking, 60kms of trekking and 120kms of mountain biking depending on the terrain and route choice. It will be tough. Entry includes:

  • 2 sets of race maps
  • a high quality adventure racing course in a great location
  • a cool race t-shirt
  • first response teams for emergency first aid
  • great web coverage with live tracking
  • a post-race BBQ
  • race pack with goodies
  • event prizes (dependant on sponsorship)

And one of the most arduous and memorable adventure racing experiences of your life. This race does not include kayaks, teams can supply their own, hire one from a range of suppliers, or we can supply a CTR double kayak for $100 per boat. Teams racing for A1 points must use the CTR kayaks for hire and compete un-supported.

The Half Course

This is the great race for the teams not ready to race the Full but wanting an overnight adventure racing experience. This is a 24hr course and teams can expect to cover up to 25kms of kayaking, 30kms of trekking and 80kms of mountain biking depending on the terrain and route choice. It will still be tough. Entry includes:

  • 2 sets of race maps
  • a high quality adventure racing course in a great location
  • a cool race t-shirt
  • first response teams for emergency first aid
  • great web coverage with live tracking
  • a post-race BBQ
  • race pack with goodies
  • event prizes (dependant on sponsorship)

And up to 24hr of arduous and memorable adventure racing. This race includes kayaks.

The Rush

This is the great race for teams wanting to get a taste of adventure racing. This is a 12hr course and teams can expect to cover up to 12kms of kayaking, 15kms of trekking and 40kms of mountain biking depending on the terrain and route choice. It will still be challenging. Entry includes:

  • 2 sets of race maps
  • a high quality adventure racing course in a great location
  • a cool race t-shirt
  • first response teams for emergency first aid
  • great web coverage with live tracking
  • a post race BBQ
  • race pack with goodies
  • event prizes (dependant on sponsorship)

And up to 12hr of arduous and memorable adventure racing. This race includes kayaks.

All Entries close on the Sunday evening, three weeks before the event . You do not need to have all team members confirmed to enter however full payment is still due. Entries may still be accepted for two weeks after the closing date with a $50 per person late fee. No entries will be accepted within one week of the event.

Teams may officially cancel their entry at any stage up to the Sunday 3 weeks before the event by emailing the race organisers. A refund of entry fees paid, less 10% administration fee will be made. Cancellations after the closing date and up to Sunday 1 week before the event will attract a 50% cancellation fee. After this date cancellations will not be considered for a refund or transfer to a following year. The cancellation policy is strict so please don’t request an exemption.

In the event of an “act of god” (fires, floods etc) organisers will attempt to re-route the course or find alternate short courses. Organisers reserve the right to cancel the event if no suitable alternate course is possible and no refunds or transfers will be made. Due to the scale of the event and travel/commitment involved by competitors it is not possible to re-schedule.

What do I get for my money?

Your race entry fees include:

  • A high quality adventure racing course in a great location;
  • On-site first response teams for emergency first aid;
  • All race maps for your team;
  • Kayaks for the Geo-Half course;
  • Special disciplines as appropriate to the location;
  • Official race vest to wear during the event;

  • Great live web coverage throughout;
  • Post race breakfast on Monday morning or equivalent;
  • up to 48 hours of the most arduous and memorable adventure racing of your life!
  • Entry fee includes 10% GST;

It is our aim to provide you and your team the best quality event we can. Admittedly, it isn’t cheap to enter, but neither is it cheap to run an adventure race of this scale, in a new location each year, especially when the event goes for well over 48 hours straight!

PreRequisites

Agree to the conditions, declarations and indemnifications outlined in the Acknowledgment Waiver and Release form for competitors and be willing to sign this at race registration.

Each team member must have Australian ambulance cover or an Australian medical insurance policy that includes ambulance cover or travel insurance covering medical costs including medical transportation for an injury sustained during competitive event or an Australian exemption or other ambulance coverage e.g. Australian Defence Force, residents of Tasmania/Queensland etc.

Discount Options

Geocentric Outdoors, the organisers of GeoQuest, have a program in place to offer discount vouchers to individuals or teams who generate positive media coverage for themselves and the event (e.g. have articles published, appear on news, do interviews etc). International Team Discounts

In recognition of additional travel costs for international teams/competitors and potential exchange rate disadvantages, each bona fide international competitor residing outside Australia may receive a 15% discount on their portion of the entry fee. On the entry form manually calculate this discount, select the discount voucher payment option, then pay your required amount.

Insurance

The event organisers have a public liability insurance policy to the value of 10 million dollars. This is a compulsory insurance policy for events that are organised on, or cross through, any form of government land/public place. This however is not personal accident insurance for you! It is recommended you have your own personal accident insurance.

FULL COURSE (EARLY) – $525 per person ($2,100 team) (full fee paid by end March 2018).
